Welcomes
The Wright Family

I'm sure you recall last years wonderful Christmas program called Miracle on the Square. The important role of the young reporter was played by a new member of Somerset FCC, BJ Wright.  BJ is joined each Sunday by his lovely wife, Tamera.  The couple has two children, Rachel Mercedes Wright (9 yrs) and Jackson Taylor Wright (2 yrs).

BJ (Byron Justin) and Tamera celebrate their wedding anniversary on June 17th and Tamera enjoys her birthday cake on April 11th. All the other members of the Wright family have birthdays in August!  BJ celebrates August 16th, Rachel celebrates August 17th and Jackson has cake and presents on August 21st.

Born and raised in Somerset, KY, BJ is a 1990 graduate of Pulaski County High School.  He went on to graduate from EKU with a BA in Spanish.  He also holds a KY certification in Secondary Education, a minor in Biology, an EKU Masters in Education Administration 2004, and an Endorsement for Teaching English as a Second Language, all grades 2006, Rank I-Spanish Literature University of KY 2007. Tamera hails from Hindman, KY, where she graduated from the June Buchanan School. Tamera went on to obtain a BA in Elementary Education (K-4) from Alice Lloyd College, 1992. She then procured her MA Degree in Early Elementary Education and Special Education (K-12) from Morehead State University, 1996.

BJ currently wears a lot of hats, professionally.  He is an English as a Second Language Teacher/Interpreter for Pulaski County Schools:  Nancy Elementary, Burnside Elementary, Shopville Elementary, Oak Hill Elementary, Southern Elementary, Southern Middle School, Southwestern High, and Sunrise (Formerly KY Baptist Home for Children.)  He also works for the US Census Bureau.  He is a former Judo Player for EKU and UK and the former Archery coach for Southern Middle and Southwestern High Schools.  Tamera currently works as a Special Education teacher for the Pulaski County Board of Education at Southern Middle School.

BJ’s favorite hobbies are fishing, hunting, gardening and water skiing.  He also likes vacationing in the mountains or near the ocean, especially Cape Hatteras, NC; the Florida panhandle and Quintana Roo, Mexico.  Tamera was a four year tennis player for Alice Lloyd College and has enjoyed traveling to France, Monaco, Switzerland, Italy, and Sicily.  In general, she loves to spend time with family and friends. Rachel's hobbies include horseback riding, fishing, cats, and arts and crafts with her granny.  She wants to run track for Oak Hill Elementary next year and wants to be a veterinarian when she grows up.  Jackson's favorite things to do include watching and playing with Thomas the Tank Engine, playing outdoors, reading books, and visiting the nursery at FCC.

For this busy, growing family their favorite bible verse is
Philippians 4:13:  "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Take a moment this Sunday to say, “Hello!” to the Wright family and welcome them into Somerset FCC (DoC) Family of Faith.
