First Christian Church Welcomes
The Tucker Family
The congregation of FCC would like to extend a warm "Welcome Home" to the Tucker family: Ryan Tucker, Brandi Prather, and Kannon Tucker. Both Brandi and Ryan are from Somerset and after traveling full circle they have returned to their hometown and made First Christian Church (DOC) their church family home.
Brandi has a birthday coming up in February (on the 24th) while son Kannon (7), will celebrate his birthday on September 9th. Ryan enjoys his cake in July on the 22nd, which is also the month they are expecting the arrival of the newest member of their family. That’s right! Brandi, Ryan, and Kannon are expecting the baby to arrive in July!
Their church family will be delighted to welcome the new arrival and will continue offering the family Best Wishes as they celebrate their wedding anniversary on October 6th.
Here is a little more info on Ryan and Brandi. Ryan graduated from Somerset High School in 1993 and Western Kentucky University in 1998 with a BA in Communications. He went on to complete his Masters Degree at Union College in 2004. Ryan currently works as a Program Supervisor covering the 28th Judicial Circuit for the Kentucky Drug Court. His work takes him throughout Pulaski, Lincoln, and Rockcastle counties. Brandi graduated from Somerset High School in 1996 and Centre College in 2000 with a BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the University Of Kentucky College Of Dentistry in 2000. She completed her two year Pediatric Dental residency from the University of Kentucky in 2004 and received her Diplomat Status from the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry in 2009. Brandi moved to Somerset and opened her pediatric dental office in 2006. She is the only specialist in Pediatric Dentistry in Somerset.
Young Kannon is in the first grade at Hopkins Elementary. His favorite things to do include: playing golf, playing Nintendo Wii, collecting and trading Pokemon cards, and swimming. He is already tall and handsome, just like his father!
Some of you may remember that Ryan is an avid golfer and he attended WKU on a full golf scholarship. He was First Team All Sun Belt conference for 3 years at Western. Brandi is hoping to learn to golf soon and thinks she will have a really good coach when the weather gets warmer. Brandi has made running a hobby that she started on her return to Somerset and has run a half marathon in San Antonio, TX and Nashville, TN and a full marathon in Disney World. Although the pregnancy has put a damper on her upcoming marathon plans, she hopes to run a half marathon with Ryan next fall after the baby is here.
This active, loving family finds tranquility and stability in the words of the Serenity Prayer, a good reminder for all of us. Take a moment this Sunday to introduce yourself (and your family) to Brandi, Ryan, and Kannon. Welcome Home!
